By now you have all probably read my lovely wife's post detailing the blog and our current plans. I would like to second everything she said. The blog wasn't a New Year's resolution blog, although I think this coincidental timing we have going on here will make a lot of people suspicious.
I happen to believe that Abby and I lead pretty blessed lives and that we do some neat stuff with our young adult lives. This blog will be our way of sharing what we are going through and also a means of communicating with people close to us about our happenings (since I will admit that I could certainly be in better communication with a majority of my friends).
I find that I am currently in a very long transition period. Transitioning from college to the real world, single man to married man, child to adult, dependent to independent. It's been a blast so far and I would like to welcome you to be a part of it.
Today Abby and I went to a speciality pen store and purchased a fancy-pants fountain pen. This has been something that I've thought about for quite some time. The idea is that by having a great new writing utensil I will be far more inclined to write friends and family. It is currently sitting right in front of me, nib side up of course!, and I am pouring over material on fountain pen upkeep. Abby and I plan on making our own paper, so that will be yet another perfect excuse to write people, but that's a post for another day.
We bought the pen at a Crown Center store so it's only logical that we also went, that's right, ice skating! It is quickly becoming a tradition that we ice skate at least once every winter. Today's weather was skater friendly - no hat or gloves required. Once the initial relearning process was over, we were skating like pros. Although it wasn't crowded there were still plenty of people out, which probably made for a more interesting experience. Just before we both hit skater exhaustion we turned in our skates, said good-bye to the rink, and continued on our way. And here's a picture to prove it:
