I finally had my first day of substitute teaching! I had already decided that I didn't really want to work today, as it was Jason's day off and I haven't been sleeping well lately, but I got called for a half day (the second half of the day) at one of the elementary schools. It was absolutely wonderful. Actually, it was crazy and hectic. I was an aide in the K-3rd grade special education room. I got to go to recess, science class, help with "testing" (in this case, sorting animal-shaped erasers), go to music class, and learn how to brush my teeth--all without any sort of lesson plan or schedule or advance warning given to me. As crazy and hectic as it was, it was still wonderful. I was so happy to be out of the house and working again (even though I missed Shemar Moore on Ellen). AND I was able to snag a sub job for tomorrow as well--middle school social studies!
