PLANS

She says:
In other To Do List news, today I was catching up on old blog posts from the blog "Oh, Hello Friend" (ohhellofriendblog.com), which is chock full of beautiful homemade paper crafts, like notecards and little books, as well as inspirational, motivational reminders: "You are loved", "Be productive", "Live what you love".  A long while back, she had a post called "101 in 1001", which was basically a To Do List of 101 things to complete in 1001 days.  She marked off things that she completed--which from the looks of it, is not very many...or she just didn't keep up with updating it.  Regardless of how many she completed, I loved her list, and I was excited because several things were similar to mine!

Right around 2 years ago--just before spring recess (spring break) of senior year, I started a "Lifetime To Do List" journal, which I titled "PLANS".  So far it's an 11 page (around 250 items) list of things that I want to do, that Jason and I want to do, and just things that we've talked about doing, even if they are silly and we would never put them on a real list.

I check them off when they're completed.  Checked items include (but aren't limited to): Refer to spring break as "spring recess", from The Great Panda Adventure.  Teach Jason how to rollerblade.  Sit with Jenny at graduation.  Read Dune.  Make homemade soft pretzels.  Play through Paper Mario.  Marry Jason (good one!).  Start a blog.

Items get marked with an X if they had some sort of time constraint and I didn't complete them.  Some X-ed items: Send a picture of my sculpture to Mom (but it got knocked down while it was on display and broken).  Decorate my cap for graduation.  Sew button on green shorts (I finally found the button that went with a pair of shorts I bought on clearance, but never wore, and before I got the button sewn on I misplaced the shorts!).

But most of them are things that are still to be done and not necessarily in a hurry.  Here are some items that are just hanging out: Make legs for my pig doorstop.  Move to Nashville.  Make my own kite.  Learn how to walk on stilts.  Visit North Carolina.  Keep up blogging.  Make a pinhole camera.  Go to a play in KC.  Go to a small town festival (North Kansas City is having "Snake Saturday" this weekend...).

There are tons more things (about 230), and the list keeps growing.  Unlike Monday's To Do List, which was bleh! and overwhelming, PLANS is a much more exciting journey that I am excited to continue. :)
