He says:
Every month I try to brew a batch of beer. It used to be something like every two weeks in college, but somehow work got in the way. Brewing beer was one of my first real hobbies. It allows me the chance to blend creativity with microbiology. I quickly found out that I have a serious interest in fermentation of all sorts. My latest fascination has to do with a Mexican drink involving pineapple called tepache, but that's another story.
I did some prep work inside the house and then I moved to our backyard to boil the wort on my turkey fryer (which has never had a turkey in it). Thankfully the weather was very calm today, a little wet but it sure beats brewing in rain. Everything went off swimmingly, and now we have a 2.5 gallon batch of an Irish red ale in my fermentation fridge. I can't wait to hear the bubbles in the airlock.
