Lunch

She says:
Last week I had a bad morning.  I woke up late (and by "late" I mean "still way too early for my liking"), and I ended up running out of the house without fixing myself a lunch.  As lunch time approached, I started to get frustrated.  There are probably 35 restaurants within 2 miles of my work, but nothing sounded good to me.  Plus I hated that I was wasting money on fast food I didn't even want.  I started to drive to  McDonalds, figuring I'd only have to spend $2.14 on a burger and fries and it would motivate me to make sure to pack a lunch, but I couldn't seem to make myself drive through the drive thru.  Instead I headed toward the Taco Bell/Pizza Hut Express.  I do love breadsticks...
Immendiately upon entering, I was greeted by a ridiculously perky woman named Jill (her nametag told me so).  She asked me if I wanted to try a new product that is in development for Taco Bell.  "Heck yes, I do!"  But I didn't really want to.  I wanted breadsticks.  Plus, the only things at Taco Bell that I like are 1) caramel apple empanadas and 2) a bean burrito without the red sauce, without the onions, and easy on the beans.  I doubted what they were developing was anything like either of those two things.  So when Jill brought my survey over to me, I tried to back out.  But no: "Don't worry, you'll like it," and with that she was off to get me a sample, leaving me alone with the demographics part of the survey.  I decided to try a bite, fill out my survey as kindly as possible ("I'm sure it'd be good for someone who likes Taco Bell..."), and then score some breadsticks.
Seconds later, Jill returns with the product.  A quesadilla!  There was a product descriptions about "melty cheeses" and "signature marinades" and "zesty salsa" and some other nonsense, but it was a quesadilla with pepperjack cheese, steak and two "dipping sauces"--salsa and sour cream.  And it was pretty good.  I ended up eating the whole thing while finishing the survey.  I was quite surprised that they gave me an entire quesadilla as a sample, but also glad that I had just lucked my way into a free lunch.
I turned my survey in to Jill in a very good mood...AND THEN SHE GAVE ME A $5 GIFT CARD!  Somehow I got two free lunches for the price of not having time to make my own.  I may have had a bad morning, but I had an awesome lunchtime!
