With Jason working this weekend and my face still on the mend, we didn't go out and do a whole lot. However, our friend Jill was in town on Saturday evening, so we got to meet up with her and make a night of it.
Jason and I met Jill and Addison at Crown Center for dinner at Fritz's--where your food is delivered by train! The whole set up was pretty neat. Instead of ordering from a waitress, you call in your order by using a phone that is set up at your table. Then a train that runs along a track at the top of the restaurant pulls your basket of food to a platform that lowers down to your table. Very cool. But also a little loud.
After dinner we went to a couple of the shops in Crown Center. We all went to the candy store, where Jason and I picked out a bag of assorted goodies! We also went to the Crayola store where Addison and Jill colored a picture and I made Jason read Harold and the Purple Crayon because 1) they had it there and 2) I was remarking on how much I love that book just the night before! We also found a book of "EXTREME" connect-the-dots. Holy moly!!! There were over 1000 dots that you had to connect to make up the picture. It took all four of us about three minutes to find the 1 dot (and then after 2, there was a break and 3 picked up someplace else entirely...).
Jason filling up a bag with sweetness.
Addison and Jill looking at a sucker with an actual (!) cricket in the center.
Jason acts ridiculous to hide his cool, calculated move. He ended up winning the game!
Addison being very strategic.
Jill spends a long time pondering the best move.
Jami's plan was "blokused" by Jill's move!
We also played Sequence, which also claims to be a game of strategy, but is not. I'm just saying...
Whose idea was dinner at Fritz's (I'm guessing it wasn't Addison's)?
ReplyDeleteIt was totally Addison's idea! He was also the one who suggested that we get a paper conductor's hat (as they are only 25 cents)! I think all of that yelling about trains was an elaborate ruse.
